Hugh, who studied for his degree and Masters at RWCMD, is taking part in Classic FM’s Mozart Mountain Challenge to raise money for the Classic FM foundation, which funds music education and therapy projects for disadvantaged children and adults in the UK.
Hugh is adding a musical twist to his challenge by performing the world’s highest ever classical concert on the top of Island Peak.
Since graduating from the college in 2009, Hugh has worked as a professional violinist and a violin tutor. He has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Cymru and The Menuhin Competition Orchestra, played in two specially commissioned orchestras for performances with Jon Lord (Deep Purple) and made a number of appearances on live television.
He is the violin tutor at Reading School and St Edward’s Prep School, and supports The Henley Festival Orchestra, which provides a platform for children to perform and gain experience from prominent musicians.
